The new Wilkinsons Store in The Vancouver Quarter, New Conduit St, Kings Lynn opened with a bang this Wednesday 26^th May. It had hoards of shoppers keen to fully explore the 40,000 sq ft of new retail offering. The festivities kicked off with the local drivetime radio presenter Adi Linton, over the loudspeaker, exciting the crowds with a game of higher or lower. Lots of lucky shoppers used their wits and won a selection of Vouchers that could be used in the new store. The other stores in the Vancouver Quarter participated in the excitement, giving away free samples in the streets and ensuring that the shoppers who visited had a great experience and found out what other offers were available to them.

Wilkinsons store manager, Keith Yandall, commented: “The opening day of the Wilkinsons store was a great success and we were delighted that we were able to involve the local community as much as possible. Moving to the larger store in the Vancouver Quarter will not only mean that Wilkinsons can now offer an extended product range, but also integrate itself in the Kings Lynn community more than ever and I want to thank all the retailers within the Vancouver Quarter for being so welcoming and supportive.”

As well as Wilkinson’s enjoying their success in The Vancouver Quarter, a record number of retailers such as Deichmann, The Bake House, Ann Summers and Costa Coffee are also enjoying success with continuing year on year improvement with the majority showing year on year improvement and many topping their company sales league tables.

Jane Green, Manager of Costa Coffee   in The Vancouver quarter  said, “I got involved at handing out free samples during the event. It has definitely helped increase sales as we came top in the area this week with highest sales. Even with the good weather and the coast nearby, people are choosing to come into the Vancouver Quarter.”

John McCoward, Manager of Deichmann’s in The Vancouver quarter said, “Wilkinsons will increase footfall, in general we are trading really well and with this opening it’ll have a good impact on the Vancouver Quarter.”

Becci Hardingham, Manager from The Bakehouse in The Vancouver quarter said, “With Wilkinsons being nearer to us, it will certainly increase footfall and it can only be a positive move for the Vancouver Quarter. We have increased sales in our store.

Kirsty Skillings, Manager from Ann Summers in The Vancouver quarter said, “We’ve already seen a positive increase in both sales and footfall since the opening.”
